On Oct 3, 2009 Lynd's Fruit Farm in Pataskala, OH held an event for Nationwide Children's Hospital raising money for a good cause. We plan to go every year and don't leave without a taste of their sinful pumpkin roll. Our kryptonite... This year all of us McGuire's went. The kids did very well and they each picked out their own pumpkin. Little miss E made sure she'd be able to carry her own. They taste tested the apples as we picked them.
I am expecting my 2nd child May 4th. I am unbelievably nervous. There's no doubt in my mind that I want another child. There's just doubt in my ability to raise 2 of them. I love my daughter and she is amazingly brilliant. She's healthy, beautiful, and the joy of my life. I can't imagine having two children to make me feel the way I do. This should be one amazing time. I bought a 3 tab journal for my pregnancy. That way I could write about Ella and the baby seperately then once the baby comes write about their interactions together. We'll see how it goes.
If you could have personally witnessed one event in history, which one would you want to have seen?
Wow that's really hard to just pick one. I think one event I would've liked to have seen would be when Jesus fed 5,000 with a few fish and a couple loaves of bread. To have seen the look on the disciple's faces when they realized that was all there was to serve and to see the miracle happen. I think that would've been quite an interesting event.
Or to see the landing of the Mayflower on Plymouth Rock. To see the reactions of both sides to the new people. I wonder if the Indians would've sat down with them for the first Thanksgiving meal if they knew later they'd be kicked out of their homes and sent west along the infamous trail of tears. I find it interesting that because of events in history to the Native American people that they get rewarded for their heritage with the ability to open a casino when back in the day they sold a great deal of land for a bunch of beads.
Ok, I don't consider myself extremely "churchy", however, I somehow find myself getting more and more involved at my church. I was also teaching Wednesday night, but with the Drama Ministry starting we're going to have practice before service on Wednesday night and I knew I wouldn't be able to handle all of that. I am very extremely excited about the start of the drama ministry there at the church. I have full support from the senior pastor as well as the other members of the Sunday school board. This coming Wednesday is the start of our very first practice. We're going to do a human video to the song "I can only Imagine". I know it's been done a million times, however, I found 3 videos between www.youtube.com and www.godtube.com that we will combine and make our own. The teens are super excited! I'm super excited! The drama ministry at the church while I was a teenager was exactly what I needed at that time in my life. I miss that part of my teenage years. We were such a close group. All summer long we were together. We'd take turns eating a each other's houses, we went to movies, bowling, skating, run around in stores... Just thinking about the group of teenagers makes my heart swell and miss what we were. Now we're spread out across the United States. Some of us are married with kids, a couple of us are struggling with leukemia and diabetes... One thing we all have in common is that we are all still in a church of some denomination. Hmmmm... memories.
Would you rather be rich or famous? Why?
Submitted by Chris Vaughn.
I wouldn't mind being rich... At least rich enough that I didn't have any debt and I could stay home with my daughter. I feel like I miss so much of her development because I have to work right now.
What are you most looking forward to this weekend?
Me and my sister, Laura, are getting our daughter's pictures taken together. Her daughter in 4 1/2 months younger than my daughter, Ella. We wanted to wait until her daughter was sitting up well on her own. I can't wait to see how they'll turn out!! Wish me luck!
What's holding you back from your dream job?
Submitted by Question of the Day.
Well I'm not really sure what my dream job is. There are several things I'd like to be when I grow up... On the practical side of things I'd like to get into human resources/training. However, the work force wants a degree and years of experience. I don't have a degree (yet) and I only have 2 years experience.
On the actual dream job side of things I'd love to be an actress. What's keeping me back? Mainly the fact that most actors struggle for years. The rate of real success isn't very high in Hollywood.
Something else that I've thought about doing is being an interior designer. A friend of mine recently said that my house looks like it popped out of a home magazine. Talk about a confidence booster! The idea that someone wouldn't like the final project is what holds me back.
What quality in your best friend are you most envious of and why?
From my friend Akela I envy her style. She always looks amazing!! From my friend Jen I envy her boldness. She honest (without being mean about it) and she seems to do it with ease.
I have just been recently introduced to a video series with Rob Bell. They are just short videos that are what I would consider a "sermonette". I have to say I really really like the way he relates real life to the scripture. He's teaching, not preaching. He's a pastor of a rather large church up in Michigan. I would encourage everyone to check out the videos.
In case you are interested there are 19 videos in the series.
The videos are made by NOOMA.
Here is information about Pastor Rob Bell and the Mars Hill Bible Church.

The videos are nondenominational Christian videos.
